Answering common questions

What's your experience?

I’m an aspiring video editor and videographer, transitioning from five years in front-end development to specialise in video production and editing. My digital media degree and agency background give me technical ability, creative thinking and attention to detail, which I now apply to video production.

I’ve gained hands-on experience across corporate shoots, social campaigns and creative productions, working in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, and developing skills in lighting, audio, camera operation and professional editing workflows.

Key projects include:

  • Leeds Building Society – “Saving Money Matters” Video: Supported a professional video team on a corporate shoot, assisting with lighting setups, camera and audio checks, and set organisation. Contributed to editing workflows, colour grading, sound design and motion graphics, gaining valuable experience in end-to-end production.
  • The Hunter – Music Video: Directed and produced a full music video, managing storyboarding, location scouting, actor direction and editing. Designed complementary promotional materials and led a small team to deliver a polished final product.
  • Sonar – Homelessness Awareness Campaign: Collaborated with LADBible and Adobe Creative Cloud to produce a social campaign video. Filmed and edited content, designed motion graphics and logo animations, and supported creative direction to deliver a compelling final piece.

Now I’m focused on building a career in video production and editing, combining creativity, technical skills and enthusiasm to deliver meaningful high-quality content.

Why do you enjoy videography and editing?

I enjoy videography and editing because it allows me to combine creativity and technical skill to tell engaging stories.

Seeing raw footage transformed into a polished final video is deeply satisfying.

The variety of projects keeps me inspired and continuously learning. Creating content that connects with audiences and evokes emotion is what drives me.

What makes you a good videographer and editor?

I bring a well-rounded digital background, strong technical skills, and a meticulous eye for detail to every project.

My experience in web development and digital media helps me approach videos with both creativity and precision, ensuring visually appealing and technically polished results.

Your most challenging video project?

One of my most challenging projects was producing a video at university for an Adobe brief aimed at promoting social change. Working in a team with people I hadn’t met before presented challenges, and it was a great insight into the dynamics of collaborative digital projects.

Coordinating schedules, planning shoot days, and developing storyboards under tight deadlines required leadership, organisation, and strong communication skills. When some ideas proved unfeasible, I used my project management skills to adjust the plan and ensure the team stayed on track.

By effectively steering the project and refining our approach, we successfully captured all the necessary footage and delivered a polished final video, earning a first-class grade for the project.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running and gym sessions, which helps me stay disciplined and focused.

I’m also passionate about sports, watching and play golf regulary with friends!

In addition, I experiment with personal video projects to explore new techniques and creative ideas.
